Tip Speaking and teaching are far and away the most productive ways to promote.  Standing before a crowd isn't everyone's cup of chamomile, but getting comfortable with being in front of people is an advantage for authors, even if they don't plan to carve out a speaking schedule. At the very least, poets and authors will find themselves reading their work at book signings.  So take a class at your community college, join Toastmasters, practice in front of friends.   Find at least one tip on writing, promotion or tech on every page of this website.

This Is the Place in Chicago in 2001, The Frugal Editor at the Biblio booth (distributor) in New York in 2007 and in 2008, in Los Angeles in Ta Da!!!! The USA Book News booth for its award winners. The Frugal Editor won top billing in the publishing category.

Carolyn Howard-Johnson will be one of the featured winners of the USA Book News' booth at BEA on Friday, May 29, at the nation's premier book event, Book Expo America. On April 26 & 27, Carolyn Howard-Johnson will sign her new USA Award-winning book the Frugal Editor ( as well as her others) at the LA Times/UCLA Festival of Books on the beautiful UCLA Campus in the Authors Coalition booth, #610 and 611.
